The BARKER MUSEUM houses one of the country's largest collections of character toys & artifacts, spanning fifteen decades of American history. No matter what your age, you will recognize something from your life, whether it's a cap pistol, Partridge Family lunchbox or Star Wars action figure. Stand beside our life-sized Hulk or pose with our larger-than life-sized Simpsons family, Kung Fu Panda and Alvin and the Chipmunks (Simon & Theodore) and you have an experience that you won't find anywhere else. We invite you to browse the 80,000 cartoon-themed items that Gloria & Herb Barker spent a lifetime collecting. Each exhibit shows the estimated market value for the toys & collectibles, although NOTHING IS FOR SALE. Stop by to recapture some of your forgotten memories or make new ones with your children!
WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING GROUP TOURS of any size. Call Laurie at 203-272-2222 or at 800-227-5372, ext. 238 to book a tour that is unlike any that your group has ever experienced. Each person receives a self-guided tour booklet and a commemorative souvenir. You can also see today's finest animation art in the adjacent Gallery, or tour the extensive grounds to pose for a picture with our cartoon landscape character cut-outs. Connecticut's largest cartoon mural provides another great photo opportunity as you take the Popeye trivia quiz provided by the Museum.
